Journey Recommendations + User Testing

User 01 -  Haiyan Zhang
Task: to find the article "Wellington's Trolley Buses to continue..."

Actions:

  • Open Hamburger menu in top left corner.
  • Select News, then Wellington as a sub category
  • Select article for Wellington news home page.

User testing for this went straight forward, everyone seemed to be able to complete the task without a problem. However this user journey is specifically about navagation and has no personalised feature to make Haiyan expereince easier, so this is what I could start thinking about.

User 02 - Hemi Kamana
Task: to find the video section and watch a news video.

Actions:

  • Select "watch" on top menu bar
  • click on a news video and watch.

This journey is very short and straight forward.
The people I tested on had not problems.
However I am un sure about having the "watch" section away from the full menu, it's a bit confusing.

User 03 - Mike Richards
Task : Find the article "Uni Fee Changes Unfair" and post a comment.

Actions:

  • Sign-up from home page pop up.
  • Go to menu and select news
  • Select National from the sub-categories
  • Select article
  • Scroll down to bottom and hit the arrow next to comments which shows other peoples comments and allows Mike to write something because he is already logged in.

I has the most trouble user testing this journey.
Everyone one I tested on got confused about which category the article would be under, I think I need to re-think where I am going to group things. After they found the category it was a straight forward journey to comment.

User 04 - Sarah Blake
Task: To contribute an article through the "Our Dominion" Page.

Actions:

  • Login in or sign-up using the popup on the home page.
  • Select "Our Dominion" from the menu.
  • Type story in the contibute box.

The feedback I got from Tim about this journey was that it would be good to explore how the contribution of the article and have a few more options like inserting a photo and being able to preview what it looks like.

User 05 - Andrea Pazmandi
Task: Read a sports article and share it on Facebook.

Actions:

  • Select hamburger menu
  • select the sports section
  • Select an article from sports home page.
  • Select "share" at the top and select the facebook icon.

The user testing for this one again went quite straight forward, however I think I need to re think how I am going to categorise Sport because there are so many different option.

User 06 - Barry Down
Task: Find a politics article and save it to read later.

Actions:

  • Log in using pop up on home page.
  • Select hamburger menu.
  • Select Politics.
  • Select an article.
  • Select "save" on top left hand corner.
  • To read the article select "My Dominion" in top menu corner and the article will be under "saved"

The feedback I got from this one is the the pop up saying "you can find your saved articles in the My Dominion section" was helpful, so I can think about how I can use these pop up to help guide the user.
